Bedroom Balance

I truly believe one can wake up on the wrong side of the bed! Even though I am horrible at taking my own advice, I think one's bedroom should be awesome, comfy, clean (this is where I fail), and well balanced...or zen if you will. If you make the bedroom your favorite room, I think a good night's rest and a happy morning is in your future!

Here's a little easy recipe for balance, style, and comfort: Grand bed, matching night stands and table lamps, soft rug, fab throw pillows, and a cushioned bench.

Clean and Simple...and a little girly

I didn't really have any direction in mind for this room.  I started with a rug that tickled my fancy, and I chose a lot of pieces that I thought would be good backbones for a room.  I think it is smart to choose a neutral sofa and neutral other larger items because if you're anything like me, you may get the urge to fall in love with a new color combo.  This way you can switch out your pillows, rug, and side table and give the room a whole new feel!

A woMAN Cave

What's leathery with raw hide, brown and cream, and splashes of turquoise? A woman cave of course. ;)

I started this room trying so hard to make it masculine, but let's face it...I'm a girl.  Also, what percentage of men successfully decorate without some female touches? I've known like 2, maybe 1.

It's my man cave meets Texas meets my sorority colors.  Full hearts, clear eyes.

Keep Pretending - Room

I remember when I first saw the movie "Big", and I thought of how I would've decorated my apartment at that age:  trampoline, Pacman arcade, waterbed, graffit wall..I could go on. I've been thinking lately how I can be such a 30 year old kid sometimes.  I am responsible and independent, yes, but I play with my friends all the time and do love being silly and spontaneous.  That's where the design of this room came from - it's got a hammock, fun rug, girly colors, silly pillow, and even oversized Jim Henson quote.  Just simple, innocent, and fun.

To be honest, this isn't really my style.  I do love the rug and the lamps, but it is all a little too fancy and sharp looking for me.  However, I thought I would try a new style out and see how it fits.

Vintage Rock Room

Since my pup has gotten so sick, it has been really tough to think about too much else.  Being creative can be hard when my mind is so full, but it can also be such a great outlet for me.  I started 3 other rooms before this one began to unfold, and I think it really came together as my stress loosened.  It's one of those rooms that would be great for a couple because it has both masculine and feminine elements as well as a neutral pallet.  I love the texture and warmth with clean lines and vintage elements.

Leather and Luxe

I'm not sure that I'd actually want a leather couch for as much as I love napping on mine; however, they are just so cool, and Rusty's hair would just slip right off.  An unconventional color makes for a pretty awesome choice as well. This room just came together mostly from a bunch of neat pieces on Gilt and One Kings Lane.  If you don't know about either site, they are discount designer flash sales....so get 'em while they're hot!

Deja Vu...

When I started decorating this room, I was just pulling cool things that I liked.  When I finished it, I realized it is pretty much a version of my already existing home.  I too have a grey couch, velvety side chair, wooden coffee table, accents of mustard and cream, and yep I'd immediately dive into this room.  Someone just give me that bar cart and lamp, and I'll be a happy camper.

Wynning Wishes
