Starring: Sky and Fire

The combo of chambray and deep red just makes me plain ole happy.  It's like mixing the calm sky with a burning fire.  It ends up being classic, but still stands out.  In the below outfits I specifically chose light denim - solely for my love of denim and its versatility.  All are paired with a neutral shoe to keep the red in spotlight.

The jewelry in this post are from my favorite brand Dannijo.  I love them for their creating sustainable economic opportunity for women in underdeveloped areas of the world.  All packaging is handmade in Rwanda as part of their women's empowerment initiative.

And don't forget the WINE!

I did a similar post HERE on denim and white =)

Copy That: Nasty Gal Winter

Nasty Gal is a great place to get styling tips! I took this rocker vintage look, and made it a little more expensive and a tad warmer. It's not too cold here in LA, but I am mentally preparing for my trip to NYC in just a week. Brrrrrr!!

Beanie: Neff

T-shirt: McQ

(I'd also add a cream or mustard thermal under my tee....one like this Splendid one.)

Mountain Lady

It felt like I went to a different country this past week, but it was only Montana.  Montana is a gorgeous land where it snows sometimes in August and September, and the weather shifts from 20 to 70 in a day.   Being from the land of eternally 70 (with the exception of the 100s this past week....ouch), I have a total of 1 real winter jacket and like 5 long sleeved shirts.  I would have loved to bundle up in the fun and fashionable layers like the locals... and boy the men nailed it.  If I were to somehow end up living in a place where it snows most of the year, this is what I imagine might be in my wardrobe...

I've got my day gear - legit, comfortable, functional, performance.....

and I've got my night - layers, cozy, neutrals, feminine...
