FSF by Curt Sousa

If I lived here....

If I lived here, I'd dress just as boldly as my home...Preen being my most coveted Spring 2012 line. Getting dressed up and decked out in jewerly would happen every morning regardless of what the day brings.  DIY and cooking would be my fortay, and all of my numerous tea parties would be themed.  My front door would always be open, and friends would constantly come in and out.  Music will always be playing - mostly acoustic and unknown artists of course.  I wouldn't have a money making job because my husband would be a successful Director/Writer/Producer...you know, 'cause he is way too talented for just one.  Instead my days would be filled with volunteering for some of my favorite organizations, events, and projects.  We wouldn't have kids yet because we love traveling to our second home in Italy, third home in Ireland, visiting his family in Spain, and mine in Texas =) .

This room would lead on to a wrap around porch that showcases the view from our hill top abode.  The house wouldn't be too large because who really needs all that space?  It would be a comfy 2 bedroom with dining, study, living room, sitting room, laundry room, and kitchen.  You wouldn't believe it, but the kitchen would be all white washed wood mixed with deep dark stone.  The rest of the house would be just as warm, colorful, and wonderful as this.  How can this room not liven your spirits?

Starring: Bright Mini

I don't seem to have enough skirts and am super inspired by all of the bright colors that have been gracing the runways for a while now...thus I've created a few little outfits that I wouldn't mind owning! First one is my fave....

Kenny Inspired

So I really like these shorts....and I also know that summer's end is approaching....however, I refuse to let it happen.  I will transition into my fall attire like an old lady crossing the street.  Layers, layers, layers, and boots!

My Fall '11 Dream Buys

I have been working on this post for weeks now, and I am so excited that it is finally done! There were some items that I knew I wanted to include, but then there were somethings that were just too good to exclude.

Here's a little reasoning...

  • L'Wren Scott:  First of all the colors on the dress were on my check list. Mint + Navy. check! Second, the shape and fit lends itself to a million different events you can wear this to: weddings, work parties, cocktail parties, etc.
  • Martin Grant:  Maxi dress is a must get.  But this one I think is simple yet different, and also versatile...dress it up or down!
  • Stella McCartney:  You can never have too many LBD's.  And adding a new one each year is kind of an awesome idea in my book.  This one is fantastic and polka dots are gonna be huge this next year!
  • Monique Lhuillier: Red.Red.Red!  As you can see a.)I like a lot of red items from fall, but b.)Red is a major player this fall.  I am sure I'll need a gown for a Christmas formal wedding....not
  • Erdem:  I'm a sucker for tye dye....and this is A LOT of tye dye!  Black tie wedding fo sho....or a red carpet if I can sneak on to one...
  • Proenza Schouler:  I like this for a "holidays" dress.  Gotta throw a little velvet in your fall attire somewhere, and Christmas time is just begging for it.
  • Jill Stuart:  I'd wear this baby to work, brunch with friends, everywhere.  Looks really comfy.
  • Jason Wu:  There are times when we need to dress a little more conservatively...a la work Holiday party or grandparents anniversary party.  I'm betting this would be a rad jacket as well.
  • Fashion East:  I'm just in love with this dress. Rodeo dress #1
  • Matthew Williamson:  Rodeo dress #2
  • Givenchy:  This whole line really fascinates me.  Kind of like you love it, but don't understand why.  This jacket is the exact shape of my middle school jacket that I wore for pretty much my whole 3 years and into high school....except that this one has been dipped in panthers and trimmed in tassel rope.
  • Kinder Aggugini:  To be honest I have never heard of this designer, but I enjoy this jacket.  Great pop of color when you need it.  I am really lacking a bright fun jacket in my wardrobe.
  • Jaeger London:  Mix of texture is pure wonderfullness.  You can wear this jacket anywhere.
  • Burberry:  Ok white jackets are probably not the most practical....but on clean occassions, this is my pick!
  • DKNY:  I love a red plaid for fall...and this is such a great little jacket
  • 3.1 Phillip Lim:  If you do anything this fall, you must get something with leather sleeves. MUST
  • Balmain: Love me a mini skirt....and all sparkly and sequined, that's just a bonus
  • T by Alexander Wang:  This line is super comfy, and this dress would be great for layering up and boots and socks galore.
  • Issey Miyake:  Chevron prints are pretty popular at the moment...more so in home than on person, but it's only a matter of time!  And the fact that it is a vestish-dress....likey.
  • Karen Walker:  Minus the beanie I would dominate this outfit.  Dominate.
  • Bodkin:  I have an extra soft spot for this label since they have tried to work with my company.  That aside, I could live in this sweater all winter.  Actually the outfit kinda rocks too.
  • Max Azria:  Leather pencil skirt. period.
  • Band of Outsiders:  Jacket. please. Boots. por favor. Pants. possible. Shirt. Yup!
  • Rag&Bone: I am seriously addicted to this label.  And I want this outfit...not just cuz it reminds me of Clueless....but because it means I can finally look like Cher...but better!
  • Peter Som:  I have no fancy pants. None.  And these want me to wear them on New Year's, so I will gladly oblige.

Better Beds!?

I LOVE my bed.  It is probably one of the few things in my house that I thought I would never trade.  But ever since taking up this blog, I have upped my research and reading and discovered beds that definitely rival mine (ok they are better than mine)! BUT I can safely say they won't beat my deal....got mine off craigslist for 1/10 the original price. yeah baby. Best deal to this day.

This is my first room in LA - it has been 4 years and never this clean since =)...and don't worry, those tacky pillows are long gone!

Sorry!

So sorry for the lack of posting this week...I am cooking up my dream fall '11 closet.  And for those of you who don't peruse style.com regularly like I do, there are over 12,000 images for fall '11. Needless to say this upcoming post has taken me over a week to just gather!  Hope you will like it!  Goal is tomorrow =)

But for now....

I love her, this photo, and the detachable collar!

If I lived here...

If I lived here (these are 2 rooms I decided could totally be in the same house), I'd be the wealthiest bohemian, nomad, socialite, musician ever.  I'd rock on the acoustic guitar and harmonica with a rad ability to DJ.  Flying all over the world would be a weekly and sometimes biweekly thing.  It's tough being called every where to play music and DJ parties, but someone's gotta do it ;).

My drink of choice would be tequila sunrise, and my friends would come over all the time for cards,  karaoke, and jam sessions.  You can't see it, but there is a loungy pool in the back yard and a massive trampoline, of course.  Day times would consist of laying on giant floats (with cup holders) in the pool, but we would all end up laying on the trampoline talking about life by the end of every night.

My style would be boho glamour girlie.  Lots of accessories and lots of long dresses and maxi skirts.  Because I travel so much, my wardrobe would be mostly black and white - but I would never sacrifice on quality.  Always wearing hats and heels, I'd be ready for anything anytime.  Only things I'd need in my little McQueen clutch is my Amex, passport, and Excessive Chanel lipstick.  Spontaneous, fun, and fabulous would describe this wonderful life!

Double layer tank: BCBG Generation
Blouse: Vintage from American Rag
Vest: Karen Millen
Necklaces: High Gloss, Isabella Dean, Falling Whistles
Bracelets: Venice boardwalk and Nordstrom

And that would be one shallac black nail and one impromptu white nail 'cause I peeled one off =)

Late Afternoon

Found another inspirational blogger! Seriously can't get enough of good fashion bloggers.  I prefer blogs over magazines because they are real, honest outfits that people wear.  I feel like magazines are trying to sell me on products and aren't being honest with me...but let's hope I am wrong! Anyways, this girl is really fashionable and looks like a model...so envy away...

Whatever Wishes

Got paid - woooo hooo! Now I can browse online and cook up some good wish lists for ya.  Here is a little bit of everything...

Adding a scarf to an outfit can be such a great alternative to a necklace, but I really don't have many versatile ones.  This Zara scarf looks multi seasonal and is made in rayon, so won't kill ya in the heat.  As you have most likely noticed, I have yet to abandon my cross body bag only streak, and this one would mesh nicely on my purse rack.  A watch made of redwood or oak...just plain cool.  I keep thinking about these JC platforms - I have seen them in a ton of colors. I saw them at LF, but they are available on Solestruck too.  Ever since I walked into Rag and Bone in NYC last week and drooled all over their floor, they remain on the brain.  Even though this jacket looks like a couple things I already own, it is awesome!  I am in love with this suitcase.  It is a London based brand, and has such a fantastic old school look with the needs of today.  Want it the mostest.  Last,  I need more skirts!  I am going through my "I am sick of denim" phase, and either my skirts are on the skanky side or they are dowdy and too big (which I thank God for frequently).  This one is such a fun coral color and is lacey - bam and bam. Feast.
