Walk the runway, walk the street, fall in love, and repeat.

Wedding on a Lime....I Mean Dime

I hope this isn't bad luck! I am not in a relationship, so playing wedding better not curse me or anything.  But, one of my best friends is getting married, and wedding is on le brain.  It got me thinking about how much money a wedding can cost and would it be possible to do a chic wedding for less?  I always had grandiose images of my may never happen wedding, but as I was browsing ASOS recently, I noticed they have some adorable, affordable dresses that would be perfect for a wedding party.  So I accepted the challenge...and along the way fell in love with the color LIME.  The fact that it rhymes with dime was just gosh darn lucky =)

Note: splurging on bride's necklace and her bouquet.  It is a wedding after all!

I think I could come up with some more of these, so if you liked it...let me know!

If I lived here..

If I lived here, I'd be a curator of antiques and vintage fashion expert.  My expertise would be used for perfecting time period films, staging historic homes, assessing values for auction items, and consulting for vintage clothing and antique stores.  I'd spend much of my time traveling to New York, LA, and around Europe, but my home would be in Colorado. A sucker for the seasons and the outdoors, I couldn't resist the gorgeous mountains and rivers of Colorado.  My husband and I would spend our free time fishing, hiking, bike riding, rafting, working our gardens, and sipping tea in the summers; however, winters would be full of skiing, baking, snuggling, and sipping hot chocolate.  My husband would be a fishing and hunting guide as well as photographer. While I'm on a jaunt to Paris, he's off fishing Salmon in Alaska, but we tag team for photo sessions all over the world. Kids are on the horizon, but life is too much fun and adventure is always around the corner. When I'm not in my fishing, hiking, and outdoorsy gear, I love to dress up for work and events.  My eyes are always pulled towards feminine, flowy, colorful, and fun. Gotta be girly when ya can!  Ok life, you can start whenever you like.

Copy That: Stella Jean Spring 15

I am sure I've mentioned this before, but I hate trying to get "pretty".  This idea of getting dressed up and doing my hair and makeup to become prettier is daunting.  I like trying to get more fun!  I feel way more comfortable and happy when I'm wearing my Lite Beer tee and Star Wars vans than when I'm wearing my newest, tightest, shortest dress from wherever.  Then there comes the issue with being 30 and single..... I gotta try to be a little pretty I suppose.   Stella Jean is a newer designer who does not shy from fun, vibrant, colorful, and feminine.  She does a great job of mixing fun and pretty I must say.  Plus, I think she has figured out how to recycle that bridesmaid/prom dress you never wear....

Shall we dare to copy that?!

More in shoulder trends..

I don't know if it is because God blessed me with a swimmer's shoulders, but I am continuing on with my love for showing them off.  There's been a big trend of showing them waaaay off (see here), but another neckline really speaks to me these days.  I've seen it on the runways of Spring 15, there are still some good styles from this summer floating out there, but come winter there will be similar turtle neck options I predict.  (don't hold me to it, but I could totally go for a mini turtle neck sleeveless body con dress)

Mountain Lady

It felt like I went to a different country this past week, but it was only Montana.  Montana is a gorgeous land where it snows sometimes in August and September, and the weather shifts from 20 to 70 in a day.   Being from the land of eternally 70 (with the exception of the 100s this past week....ouch), I have a total of 1 real winter jacket and like 5 long sleeved shirts.  I would have loved to bundle up in the fun and fashionable layers like the locals... and boy the men nailed it.  If I were to somehow end up living in a place where it snows most of the year, this is what I imagine might be in my wardrobe...

I've got my day gear - legit, comfortable, functional, performance.....

and I've got my night - layers, cozy, neutrals, feminine...

Puttin' on the Ritz

With all the excitement of moving into a new apartment this weekend, I have started fantasizing about turning the second bedroom into an office instead of finding a roommate. Ahhhh would be nice.  A grown up, fancy, smancy, office.  A perfect space for creating my very own super duper successful charity based clothing line?! Wah. If I only I could afford such a magnificent fantasy...
