If I lived here..
If I lived here, I'd be a curator of antiques and vintage fashion expert. My expertise would be used for perfecting time period films, staging historic homes, assessing values for auction items, and consulting for vintage clothing and antique stores. I'd spend much of my time traveling to New York, LA, and around Europe, but my home would be in Colorado. A sucker for the seasons and the outdoors, I couldn't resist the gorgeous mountains and rivers of Colorado. My husband and I would spend our free time fishing, hiking, bike riding, rafting, working our gardens, and sipping tea in the summers; however, winters would be full of skiing, baking, snuggling, and sipping hot chocolate. My husband would be a fishing and hunting guide as well as photographer. While I'm on a jaunt to Paris, he's off fishing Salmon in Alaska, but we tag team for photo sessions all over the world. Kids are on the horizon, but life is too much fun and adventure is always around the corner. When I'm not in my fishing, hiking, and outdoorsy gear, I love to dress up for work and events. My eyes are always pulled towards feminine, flowy, colorful, and fun. Gotta be girly when ya can! Ok life, you can start whenever you like.

If I lived here..
____
If I lived here, in this renovated barn in Colorado, I would own an internet company with my husband. It would be social media based with an importance on dating, drinking, and dining. (Since this is a real idea of mine (and my bff), that's all of the biz I can divulge for now) My husband and I would live out here on this monstrous ranch, but the helicopter parked outside takes us anywhere we want to go. Our weekend excursions would be to the rivers of Montana, lakes of Michigan, hills of Austin, and beaches of Florida. At home, we'd have a garden where we grow our very own herbs and veggies. Our chef's kitchen will be every cook's dream where we would spend hours crafting new recipes and bottling spreads and jams to sell at local markets. We will host lots of events for local charities and weddings on our sprawling property. There will always be something going on at LoneStar Ranch, and all are forever welcome!
My style will be preppy with a trendy flare. I will sport classic colors and tailored silhouettes - neutrals, greys, navy, brown, pin stripes, plaids, and denim galore. Collars, pleating, and belting...yes please.

If I lived here...
For those of you who don't know, my poor little Rusty is very sick. The doctors don't know how much longer he can make it, so this one is for him...

When I live here in 5 years, this will be my home in Manhattan beach California. I will have successfully launched my one for one line of basics and undergarments. My line will be predominately online and in local boutiques, but flying off the racks nonetheless. Rusty will have decided to get into modeling, finally! After so many years of people telling him how cute he is, he gets discovered by an agent on the street and becomes an instant star in commercials and print. He will have a huge backyard to play in, and I will have a lagoon pool for myself. My husband's dog is an adorable white cavapoo, and Rusty is in heaven with his new bff. I too am in heaven with my model husband who is an incredible pediatrician. Although we spend a lot of time working, we have frequent backyard bbqs, lots of hiking trips, and plenty of lazy porch Sundays. Since I started infiltrating more feminine and flirty clothes 5 years ago, my wardrobe is now stocked full of dresses and skirts. My husband prefers my Aviator Nation sweats though...go figure =)
Wishing I could make this life come true! Clicking my heels a bagillion times!

If I lived here...
If I lived here, my Brooklyn home would be decorated in all white, and my clothes in all black. Harmonious! I'd be a raw and recycled gem and stone specialist, focusing on jewelry and home accessories. The blank canvases of my clothes and home make the perfect backdrops for showcasing all my jewels. I'll travel all over the world hunting for rare and beautiful gems, but home will be my sanctuary. Apparently my wardrobe will be full of unpronounceable designers that use lots of sheer fabrics and leather. Oo lala. My husband will be a hunky Wall Street hotshot by day, but by night he and I are master chefs at home...never cooking the same thing twice. Our weekends will be spent perusing flea and farmers markets, trips to the Hamptons, cooking classes, dance classes, backyard BBQs, and couch cuddling to all of the past weeks recorded trashy TV shows. Ah picture perfect.

If I lived here...
If I have moved here, I have run away with my mountain man into the forest to escape society for a while. When I agreed to abandon the world, that didn't include giving up my love of fashion (or the internet). Bringing all my best duds with me, my man is in for some fancy picnics, tea time, and porch swinging. Thankfully I was born into royalty, so the inheritance will fund these wild fancies whilst living in the middle of nowhere, cuddling and playing house with my bf. We will spend the day working in our garden, hiking near by trails, swimming in the closest watering holes, fishing in the river, and making our very own fine wines and beer. By night time, we will put on some music, build up a bonfire, toast some s'mores, dance under the stars, and cheers to our blessings. Rainy nights are spent inside with candle light, a good book, homemade stew, and snuggles. Who knows how long this love could keep us hidden from it all, but it sure sounds so sweet.

If I lived here...
If I lived here, I would have an updated vintage home in Echo Park, CA and own a PR company that focuses on artists and musicians. I'd be known for throwing secret, exclusive, and underground parties where my artists and musicians would showcase their work. My favorite play would be to have guerrilla advertised pop up events at galleries and bars for my clients. To escape the art and music scene, I'd mosey over to my boyfriend's restaurant in Hollywood for delicious margaritas and authentic Tex Mex. On my off days, I would cruise up to Malibu for some camping and hiking followed by serious wine sipping. My fashion style would be feminine and fitted but with a bohemian flare. Dresses are my game, but I will never be one for the ordinary. Over accessorized, and usually short-short, I will be dressed for the party, always. Forever a FOMO, I wont't fall asleep without a million hour long conversation with my bffs in San Fran and Texas. Life will be an adventure, and I'll sleep never!

If I lived here..
If I lived here, I'd be a designer of home goods and accessories in Venice beach Cali. A more vintage style of Kelly Wearstler perhaps! My boyfriend would be the carpenter who I met while working on some of my custom designs for a celebrity and now works all of my projects with me. He'd be scruffy and manly, but still a little nerdy with a fun sense of style. When we aren't working, we are trying out all the fun and new restaurants, bike riding on the beach, lounging at coffee houses, dancing at world wide music festivals, sipping beer at micro breweries, and playing with our 2 dogs at the park. I'd spend a lot of time traveling to France and Italy scavenging for unique finds and inspirations, thus becoming fluent in French naturally. My style would be playful and feminine with a little edge. I'd stock color and prints galore to make up for my neutral home.
This would be such an energetic life full of fun and hard work. I'll take it!

If I lived here...
I was talking last night about how the grass is always greener, and we are always imagining and envying lives that are completely opposite of the path we have chosen. Though I do like all the rooms that I save, many of them seem fit the path not chosen, like if I were married with kids or living in a smaller town....
If I lived here, I'd be a sculptor with 2 kids, a dog, and an obsession with organization. My husband and I would reside in San Francisco. He would be an English professor, successful novelist, and little league coach. Our weekends would be spent boating, attending baseball games (both little and major league), dining at all the new restaurants, and watching movies in the park. Our home would have gorgeous views of the city with large floor to ceiling windows all around. The ceilings would be sky high and the living room would be big enough to do gymnastics in. It would have the perfect mix of vintage and modern, sophistication and fun. This life would be settled but never dull, full of playfulness and laughter all the time....and obviously with a perfect wardrobe to match!

If I lived here...
I started this "If I lived here.." more so "If I wore this, where would I live?" I fell in love with a lot of the rich, romantic gowns from the recent runway shows. They all are made in luxurious fabrics and ooze drama. So, naturally I would need a romantic and dramatic home to boot...
If I lived here, naturally I'd have some psychic abilities because you can't dress and live like this without them, however my income would come from being a costumer for French theater and cinema. After winning a Moliere award for best costume design, I would dive into costume designing for French period piece films. My husband and I would have met working on a musical project together, he being the original composer of the movie's score. We wouldn't actually meet each other until at the premier by accidentally sitting beside each other in the theater. I, wearing the fiery Matthew Williamson number below and he in a custom Tom Ford suit and dark rimmed specs would fall in love instantly. Cetait le coup de foudre! I mean this is French cinema - would you expect anything less?!
I'm reading the Lucky One right now...I blame Nicholas Sparks for this sappiness ;)

If I vacationed here...
If this were my country escape away from my bustling city life, it would be nestled in the Australian countryside. I'd come here annually to work on my book about the perils of dating in your 20s in today's society. After spending the year gathering my data from bad dates, good dates, horrible nights at the bars with the girls, and all the other terrors that filled my year, I would run to this little cottage to refresh and recharge. Obviously if I needed further research, the nearest town wouldn't be too far for me to skip to and grab a local brew. After we close down the pub, locals would sometimes come back to hang out, play music, and dance around a late night bonfire...and there would always be some resulting great story from these wild nights. During the day I'd go horseback riding, snorkeling, sailing, bike riding, and anything and everything out in the sunshine. After my month or two of almost solitude and over-soul-searching, I'd make the grueling trip back to Los Angeles to my real life job as a book editor. Rested and ready to take on another year of the single life in the la la land of eternal singledom, I would make my first stop at Barneys....

If I lived here...
If I lived here, in this restored east coast mansion, I'd live a chic and busy life. My husband and I would run a law firm together. We would have met during an intense mediation on opposing sides, but our chemistry couldn't be denied (can you tell that I just read a chick book...yes, yes, I did...and it was goood). Any who - we wouldn't have any kids because our evenings would be full of our dance lessons, cooking classes, and romantic nights out. Not to mention late nights in the office...but it helps to have the one you love there beside you. (but seriously can't stop the chick novel thoughts).
We would love to restore and flip old houses - making trash to treasure for others to love. Our vacations would be spent sailing around the world and stopping to golf and drink martinis with country club folk. I'd speak a total of 3 languages, he only 2...naturally ;). My style would be sophisticated, feminine, and super elegant. My husband would be a combo of prep and country...'cause of course he has to have a little cowboy in him!
I really could go on and on...and watching Love Actually at the moment is both distracting and fueling the fantasy here! Must go enjoy my Ehlers Merlot and the best movie ever! Adios!

If I lived here...
If I lived here, I'd be wanting to have children, but wondering how to child-proof the place. My husband and I would live in Lake Tahoe; he would craft custom snowboards, skiis, wakeboards, etc, and I would be a physical therapist. We'd spend hours upon hours outdoors: hiking, skiing, boating, camping, and more. At night we would challenge the other locals to pool and ping pong, but no one would stand a chance against us. For fun we would brew our own beer and host big BBQ's. We'd even have one of those giant screens and projector for outdoor movies. The fireplace would be in the center of the house and made of giant stones warming all rooms at the same time. Hot chocolate with whipped cream would be a staple in the winter time, along with spike Wassail of course. My style would be fairly clean, not a ton of accessories or anything...just letting the fab clothes speak for themselves. Doesn't this life just sound fun and cozy??

If I lived here...
If I lived here, I'd be as eclectic in my wardrobe as I am in my decorating. Fearing no print, and welcoming all colors, my clothes would be fun and playful....and lots and lots of girlie dresses. Oh yeah, and in this life, I'd be 5'8, skinny, with long naturally blonde hair. Kind of like a Disney princess if you will....since I am dreaming here =)
For a living I would be a pediatric surgeon at the local hospital in St Helena, CA. My husband and I would own and live on an organic vineyard just a few miles out of town. We'd have a handful of small villas that we would rent out for wine tasters, and our property would constantly host weddings and grand celebrations. My spare time would be spent sitting on our big porch, staring out at the rolling hills, drinking fresh mint tea made from our garden, and indulging in the latest best seller. Our one child, a boy, would spend his weekends playing baseball and rehearsing theater (so sorry to my future husband for this, but yes it will happen). Simple, Sweet, and Successful!

If I had this closet...
If this were my closet, I would fill it with all of Spring's sparkly and shiny wonders! This would be the attic of my 3 story, 6 bedroom, 4 bathroom, game room, craft room, movie room, and 3 car garage magnificent home in Malibu. I would live with 2 of my best girl friends and would begrudgingly lend them my fabulous clothes, but willingly style them to the nines. We would waste hours playing photoshoot, like I don't do that already, but our productivity would come from our successful company that we all run together.
Our company would be a consulting firm that goes to businesses and homes directing folks on appropriate attire and organizing the closet of their dreams. Mostly, businesses would hire us to guide and enhance their employees on acceptable work attire and appropriate fit. Seasonally we would hold fashion shows/banquets for all of our business clients showing them the latest styles in business-wear, and of course all the while have a percentage stake in each of the labels showing. It would be such a tough life of fighting off all those business men, but I promise not to complain ;)
My gals and I would come home from our long days, pop in the latest un-realeased movie in our movie room, order the best chinese take out in town, and lounge around talking about the day's success. Late nights of gossip, weekends of house parties in our sprawling backyard, and vacations in exotic places (on the client's tab obvi) would be what life is all about!
Now I need to go sip my martini...I mean beer.

If I HAVE to live here...
I will start by professing my love for the Pioneer Woman. I read her book before reading her blog, and she is just plain awesome. That being said, I like to think I could be totally like her...find my hunky cowboy, settle down in the middle of nowhere, become an amazing cook and photographer...but what about fashion?? This looming question has lead me here...
If I HAVE to live here, I will most likely own the only boutique in town while simultaneously being the local interior decorator, stylist, and event planner. With a population of less than 1,000 someone's gotta do it all! I will have an online vintage store with all the great finds from the small surrounding cities. My wardrobe will be built around the life that envelops me, finding inspiration from my daily activities of gardening, horseback riding, and cooking. I will NOT sacrifice on style and make many trips to NYC and Paris to escape to the city for shopping and indulgence. My husband will come from an oil family, but supplement his inheritance with money made from training horses, raising and selling cattle, photography, and sculptures.
Our day would start at sunrise with a relaxing jaunt to the lake for fly fishing or canoeing followed by feeding and tending to all of the animals. After, I'd have to run to the boutique, but MY Marlboro man would start working with his horses. On returning home from tending the store, mailing vintage pieces, taking family portraits, and organizing for upcoming events, I'd find my handsome hubby hard at work in his studio on the next great metal sculpture. We'd cook a killer dinner and discuss our upcoming event that we are planning and photographing. The day would end watching the sunset from our wrap around porch while sipping spiked cider and snacking on homemade ice cream.
It's really amazing how much you can find to do in a small town!
Did you notice that this is a glorified chicken coop? Imagine the rest of the house!

If I lived here...
If I lived here, I would be realllllllly organized (if you know me, this is a little difficult). I'd prefer books and magazines over lap tops and ipads. Shoes would be more important than all other accessories, if they aren't already, and ball gowns would be abundant. I'd be a professional dancer specializing in salsa and various other ballroom dances. I'd travel the world doing competitions, but spend my average days teaching couples for weddings and sport. My skills would be used often for films, constantly being cast in time period movies and coaching actors on etiquette and technique. My husband would be my dance partner for our competitions, but spend his days as an architectural designer. His specialty would be in hotel interiors, but he would spend a lot of time designing our homes in London, New York, and Texas (duh). We wouldn't have time for our own kids just yet, but we would spend many hours teaching kids in local schools how to dance. But honestly, most of our time would be spent in our cozy home drinking cappuccinos and watching old movies. As it should be.

If I lived here...
If I lived here, this would be my private lounge leading to my room sized closet and fabulous spa bathroom. I'd spend many hours relaxing in the chaise reading the new books by Stephenie Meyer and J.K. Rowling as all Twilight and Harry Potter obsessed fans would do. Rusty would get kicked out all the time for dirtying up the lounge, but he'd be happy running outdoors with his two other rescue sisters. This would primarily be my retreat for studying all of my film scripts because I would be a successful actress. My break out role would probably be a rom-com, but I would rise to success with the help of my fashion sense and indie films. Shine, glam, sparkle, and color would describe my glorious wardrobe. My shoes would be sky high, yet magically comfortable, and I'd live in straight-from-the runway looks. Standing out in a crowd would not be frightening, but instead exciting. There would be too many boyfriends to note, and I would still have a good amount of years before the right one came along. So, girls' night would be weekly with professionals coming over to do manis, pedis, and martinis while we watch the newest yet to be released movies in my movie room. Life would be full of friends, fashion, glamour, and adventure. Amazing.
