Clean and Simple...and a little girly

I didn't really have any direction in mind for this room.  I started with a rug that tickled my fancy, and I chose a lot of pieces that I thought would be good backbones for a room.  I think it is smart to choose a neutral sofa and neutral other larger items because if you're anything like me, you may get the urge to fall in love with a new color combo.  This way you can switch out your pillows, rug, and side table and give the room a whole new feel!

Starring: Shoulda Been a Cowboy

Inspired from my previous post about how much I love tees...or perhaps from my perma love of tshirts...this post was born. I have also said many a time how much I love elements of country, but have I mentioned how soon the Houston rodeo is happening?! Get your ass-less chaps and spurs ready because the cook-off is coming up in just a month.  I may not get a chance to enjoy the greatest rodeo of all time this year, but if I were to, this is what I'd wear...

...or if I were the Pioneer Woman....which I am not yet giving up hope!

Don't forget your Shiner Blonde..or Bock if you must ;)

Copy That: Sincerely Jules

Sincerely Jules is one of my favorite fashion bloggers.  She has a great California-casual style that is effortless and polished, and always perfectly put together.  Also, I am queen of the t-shirts....if that's a thing... and will try and dress up a tee every single day. No lie. Graphic or plain white, I love a good tshirt!  Now, let's copy her.

Don't forget to check out her awesome blog >> Sincerely Jules

Starring: You Little Snake!

I have had snake prints on here many a time, but today I am spotlighting it.  It is fun and usually versatile, but I selected the bold, vibrant kind for this post.  If you click the links to shop below, note that the entire House of Holland line is awesome!

Copy That: Veronica Beard Pre Fall '15

Are you feelin' groovy baby?! Some of you might be getting back into those hippie vibes right about now.  We are seeing lots of fringe and flare, but soon we will be seeing the oranges, purples, suede, and more from the good ole days of pre my birth.

This Copy That was a tough one! I was determined to do it because I am in love with this Veronica Beard skirt from her pre fall 2015 collection.  It reminds me of a pink corduroy button down one I got from the Gap a million years ago that is still hanging in my closet!  I also wanted to make this more affordable, so I hope you go and copy it!

Winter Travel Wishes

Seriously every time I go to NYC in the winter for work, I wear the same 5 sweaters and spend my whole time envying all the stylish people.  Even though I know I am super lucky to be able to wear the same wardrobe pretty much year round because of the one season LA has, winter clothing intrigues me.  The warm boots, fur, gloves, scarves, and hats all look so cozy.  I'll probably look like I'm skiing down the street in my Patagonia jacket, but for now I wish the below were coming with me...

Starring: Sky and Fire

The combo of chambray and deep red just makes me plain ole happy.  It's like mixing the calm sky with a burning fire.  It ends up being classic, but still stands out.  In the below outfits I specifically chose light denim - solely for my love of denim and its versatility.  All are paired with a neutral shoe to keep the red in spotlight.

The jewelry in this post are from my favorite brand Dannijo.  I love them for their creating sustainable economic opportunity for women in underdeveloped areas of the world.  All packaging is handmade in Rwanda as part of their women's empowerment initiative.

And don't forget the WINE!

I did a similar post HERE on denim and white =)

Eclectic Industrial

Starting off this new year with a few of my favorite things. Elements that I will always want in my home: something Texas, elephants, animal print, iron/metal, and wood.  It's like a room isn't complete without at least one of each!

Copy That: Nasty Gal Winter

Nasty Gal is a great place to get styling tips! I took this rocker vintage look, and made it a little more expensive and a tad warmer. It's not too cold here in LA, but I am mentally preparing for my trip to NYC in just a week. Brrrrrr!!
